UFC 80

UFC 80 is 3 days away and there's hardly any buzz for it. After the main event, it's a fairly lacklustre card. Penn vs Stevenson should be a dandy (I'm betting on Penn) but after that, there's not much else. The "2nd" main event is Werdum vs Gonzaga. While Gonzaga has main evented before, he's usually in the sidekick position like he was when he upset CroCop and lost to Randy Couture. Werdum's last fight was so awfully boring he got put on the shelf for 8 months, and the other culprit that won the fight, Andre Arlovski is still sitting on the bench!! Though that may not be fair to say, Arlovski actually only has 1 fight remaining on his contract and I believe the UFC would like him to re-sign before giving him another fight. This may backfire as I see this move antagonizing Arlovski, and his contract (fight or no fight) expires April 2008.
